THE BASICS ⇔ Practice general RP etiquette. Don't be an ass. Don't godmod, don't powerplay, don't steal, don't be pushy, and so on. If you break these rules, you'll be kicked out. Here is some advice geared specifically toward panfandom RPGs. DRAMA ⇔ Drama in-game is acceptable and encouraged. Drama out of character, however, is not. If you can't help but be whiny, dramatic, and standoffish, then this game isn't for you. ACTIVITY ⇔ Activity will be measured based on the number of characters you interact with each month - we will do checks at the end of each month and by then, you are required to have interacted with at least five characters - 3 of which should be outside of your character's fandom. You are also obligated to respond to any post that addresses your character. When it comes to writing 3rd person responses, no one-liners are allowed. Starters and responses should consist of at least 50 words otherwise they do not count toward activity. CHARACTERS ⇔ Only 2 versions of each character is allowed, and they must be clearly different, (ex. MWPP!Sirius and PoA!Sirius, or End-Verse!Dean and regular!Dean). Original characters are allowed, but only from the Harry Potter universe. If you're playing a character from the game 'verse of Harry Potter, they'll need a reason to be at Hogwarts. NUMBERS ⇔ Currently, the maximum amount of characters a person can play is eight. However, for every three females you pick up, you must pick up a male as well. You're also only allowed one main character from any one fandom. Because sorting into houses is done by the moderators, based on a series of personality questions, we are not limiting the number of characters per house a player is allowed to have. GAMEPLAY ⇔ While grammar, spelling, and the like are subjective in IC journal postings, when it comes to 3rd person writings, please try to keep a check on them. Most browsers come with automatic spell check these days and there are generators on the web to help you as well (not to mention Microsoft Word). We aren't elitists by any standards, but at least make an effort. STORYLINES ⇔ Make sure you interact outside of your character's fandom as well. Also - instant shipping is not allowed. Unless characters are already in a canon relationship, make sure you build up to any shipping that takes place in the game. Pregnancies must be played out to the full extent (and must be handled realistically according to your character's canon), and marriages must be done realistically as well. If any one thing gets too out of hand (ex. if suddenly everyone is getting married or 1/3 of the population is suddenly pregnant), we reserve the right to cap it until things even out. PLAYED-BYS ⇔ You are obligated to use the canon actor/actress for your character if they come from a movie or television show. Any PB chosen for a written (or cartoon-represented) character must fit the character's description/representation as closely as possible - including ethnicity and age. Anthropomorphic characters are not allowed as they don't have a human PB. No PBs may be duplicated within fandoms (unless they're replicated in canon - ex. Katherine and Elena in TVD). Although characters from different fandoms may have the same PB, for the purposes of this game, they will not look identical, they'll just look similar. |
