HOW DOES THE COMM NETWORK WORK? ⇔ Each character, upon their arrival to Hogwarts, is given a leather-bound journal along with a quill and inkwell. The journals are all magically bound to one another, so that when a character writes in their journal, it shows up in everyone else's as well (with their name signed to the bottom of every exchange they post). CAN MY CHARACTER GO INTO THE ROOM OF REQUIREMENT? ⇔ Yes. But for the sake of the game and because the room can only be used by one individual/group at a time, you must thread (or post a narrative of) any time spent in the RoR, so others know when its in use and when it isn't. CAN MY CHARACTER USE MAGIC EVEN IF THEY AREN'T A WIZARD/WITCH? ⇔ Yes and Sort of. Those who are capable of producing magic or who have natural super abilities (Willow Rosenberg, Elle Bishop, Obi-Wan Kenobi) will be able to quickly pick up on the magic that exists in this universe. Those who have abilities that were given to them (Peter Parker, Tracy Strauss) will have a harder time picking up on it, but will still be able to do so easily. For your average humans, vampires, demons, etc., magic will be next to impossible to do right away. Constant practice would be necessary to do even the most simple spells. We'll do little polls and random drawings every so often for those whose magical abilities are not innate and, eventually, if your character wants to be able to do magic, they will be able to. DOES MY CHARACTER HAVE TO USE A WAND? ⇔ Yes and no. For those who already have abilities, you won't need a wand to do those (Claire Bennet, Anakin Skywalker, Clark Kent). But for anyone who wants to perform any spell, a wand will be required in this universe. That means, even if your character didn't need a wand in their own universe, they will in this one. After being accepted, you'll be able to choose your character's wand. CAN MY CHARACTER PLAY QUIDDITCH? ⇔ Possibly. Quidditch will not come into play until later on in the game and there will be try-outs for the teams (2 per house). Positions will be given on a random, generated basis, so that everyone has a fair chance - however you may not make it on a team even if you try out. |
